Cymatics is the study of visible sound — the phenomenon by which vibrational frequencies create geometric patterns in matter. Sand, salt, or water placed on a vibrating plate self-organises into intricate, symmetrical forms directly corresponding to the frequency applied.
Discovered by Swiss physician Hans Jenny in the 1960s, the word derives from the Greek kyma — wave. These patterns reveal a fundamental truth: the universe speaks in geometry, and sound is its language.
